In short: This is a small one-person horse training and sales business. We use this site to let people get in touch and to understand how our pages and ads are performing. When you fill out the contact form, your message goes to Mackenzie's inbox and into a secure database so she can follow up. We use standard tools from Google and Meta to measure ads and block bots. We don't sell your data, we don't take payments here, and we don't have user accounts.

What we collect

The only information you actively give us is what you type into the contact form: your first name, last name, email address, phone number (optional), the type of inquiry, and your message.

In the background, like most websites, our analytics and advertising tools automatically receive some technical information from your browser — things like the pages you view, your approximate location (city/region), device type, and referring source. We don't store your IP address ourselves, and we don't set any cookies of our own beyond what the third-party tools below set.

How we use it

  • To reply to you. Inquiry-form submissions are emailed to Mackenzie and saved so she can follow up.
  • To measure our ads and website. We look at aggregate traffic and conversion data to understand which pages and ads are working.
  • To prevent spam and abuse. Our contact form is protected against automated bots.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for any purpose other than what's described here.

The tools we use, and what they do

  • Google Analytics 4 — measures pageviews, sessions, and traffic sources. Data retention is set to 2 months, the shortest available setting.
  • Google Ads — conversion tracking and remarketing, so we can see which ads led to inquiries and show relevant ads to people who've visited the site.
  • Meta (Facebook / Instagram) Pixel and Conversions API — measures ad performance and supports audience targeting on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise — protects the contact form from bots. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information (such as device and browser data) and sends it to Google for analysis. Its use is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Terms.
  • Supabase — the secure Postgres database where inquiry submissions are stored so Mackenzie can review them.
  • Resend — the email service that delivers inquiry notifications to Mackenzie's inbox.

A note on how Meta receives your inquiry data

When you submit the contact form, your name, email, and phone number are hashed using SHA-256 on our server before any of it is sent to Meta through the Conversions API. Hashing is a one-way scramble — Meta receives only the hashed values, which can't be reversed back into your real name, email, or phone number. Meta uses these hashed values to attribute the inquiry to an ad if applicable. Your cleartext name, email, and phone are not sent to Meta.

Cookies and tracking technologies

The tools above set cookies and similar identifiers in your browser. Specifically:

  • Google Analytics 4 cookies (e.g. _ga)
  • Google Ads cookies (e.g. _gcl_au)
  • Meta Pixel cookies (e.g. _fbp)
  • Google reCAPTCHA cookies (set by Google for risk analysis)

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Your choices and opt-outs

You can limit ad tracking and analytics through these tools:

If you'd like us to delete a contact-form inquiry you sent, email us and we'll remove it.

How long we keep things

  • Inquiries: kept indefinitely so Mackenzie can reference past conversations and follow up. Email us anytime to have yours deleted.
  • Google Analytics 4 data: 2 months.
  • Advertising platform data (Google, Meta): governed by each platform's own retention policies.

California residents

If you're a California resident, you may request that we not “sell” or “share” your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. We don't sell your information in the traditional sense, but our use of Google Ads and Meta Pixel may qualify as “sharing” under California's definition. To make a request, email mackenzie@mackenziegwinequestrian.com with “California Privacy Request” in the subject line, and we'll honor it.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Security

Inquiry data is stored in Supabase, which encrypts data in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the surface area small on purpose: no payments, no accounts, no IP logging.

Changes to this policy

If we update how we handle data, we'll revise this page and update the date below.
